Kubin-Nicholson Delivers One-of-a-Kind Display Capabilities

MILWAUKEE, WIS. (July 17, 2007) – Kubin-Nicholson Corporation, a leader in large format digital and offset litho printing, recently acquired a new VUTEk QS3200 digital press and i-XL44 cutting table with i-Cut Vision software; which will make it possible for customers to print short-run or prototype Point-of-Purchase (POP) displays quickly and affordably. This new technology promises to change the world of POP displays by completely changing the printing process.

The new VUTEk digital press prints directly on nearly any substrate up to two inches thick. In the past, POP displays (such as those of athletes holding bottles of beer) were printed on paper or vinyl and then mounted on corrugated cardboard or foamcore. This process made printing of short-run POP displays extremely cost prohibitive. The VUTEk press eliminates costly mounting and laminating by printing directly on plastic, paper, cardboard, Coroplast™, metal, or even wood up to 10 ? feet wide, allowing customers to print as few as one standing display for use as a prototype, display at a trade show, or creation of personalized promotional materials. With 6-color printing capabilities – including white, UV cured ink for indoor or outdoor use, and 1080 dpi resolution, the quality of the VUTEk digital press allows customers to think big at a small price.

VUTEk’s companion technology, the i-XL44 cutting table, enhances the quality and affordability of the printing process by cutting nearly any substrate including plastic, paper, cardboard, Coroplast™, metal, or even wood up to 87” x 120”. The machine uses automatic surface mapping for quality, including kiss-cutting, routing, and scoring.

“In today’s personalized, on-demand marketplace, it is more important than ever for our customers to be able to react to trends by producing materials that will enhance their products quickly and affordably,” states Mike Rees, President/CEO of Kubin-Nicholson Corporation. “Our new VUTEk and i-XL44 technologies will allow our customers to print durable, short-run standing displays and packaging materials at an affordable price.”
