MILWAUKEE, WI -- The Supplier Clearinghouse (Clearinghouse) of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has certified Kubin-Nicholson as being a woman-owned business enterprise (WBE).

Similar to the WBE program for the state of Wisconsin, the program is designed to encourage, recruit and utilize women-owned businesses by participating companies.

Through the Clearinghouse, CPUC maintains a website and directory of eligible women and minority owned business enterprises that have been awarded the certification. The website allows participating buyers to obtain information about the products and services offered by Kubin-Nicholson.

To qualify for state WBE status an applicant must prove that the business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled and daily managed by a woman. Margaret Rees is the majority owner of the Kubin-Nicholson with her granddaughter Elizabeth Rees as her trustee. Kubin-Nicholson specializes in large format printing in a variety of categories including point-of-sale, standees, litho labels, indoor banners, trade show displays, vehicle graphics, wall maps, large posters, and many different types of self-adhesive graphics and has been in business over 80 years.
